2012 Mica Vid
October 1, 2012Winter 2012 Update
January 30, 2012Sorry for the lack of posts this winter. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite pics thus far from Whistler and Mica. And if you’re wondering (and I’m sure you are) there will be another Mica video soon. Have to edit a bunch of footage. We shot the whole trip mainly on Contour+ and Contour Roam. Not sure how it will turn out but should be pretty good.

Mica Heli Ski 2011 Movie
March 16, 2011I finally finished the 2011 Mica movie. Turns out iMovie has a big issue with maintaining the audio throughout a project when you use custom slow motion or custom fast motion on clips. This was a very annoying problem to have to deal with after I thought I was finished. Hopefully Apple has fixed this problem in newer versions of iMovie. If you want to know more about the problem and how to avoid it or what I did as a workaround then send me an email or a comment and I can fill you in. If not, then just watch it.
Hope you like the movie. It was a lot of fun to make. Be sure to click the “HD” and “full screen” buttons before you watch.
more Mica 2011 pictures
January 27, 2011So the last two days of Mica were probably the deepest and best snow of my life. The last day was for sure. Couldn’t see or breath but it was ok. Here are a few more pics from the trip. I’m going to start working on the video today. I’m going to use Final Cut for the first time instead of iMovie so bare with me until I get it figured out and finished. It will be worth it though. There are some amazing videos!
Darren getting disgusting
The wheels fell off of the trip. Literally. This bus started the drive with two tires. We looked out the window and one of them was passing us. It ended up 300 yards down the road. Then the other tire popped.
Mica Heli Ski 2011
January 19, 2011Here are some pics from Mica. I’ll have a video when I get to it. The snow has been great. We’ve stayed off the steep and wide open stuff because of snow instability issues but the trees have been deep! Our first day ended up being a down day because of low fog and freezing rain which is not good for helicopters. Yesterday was sunny and cold and we had great conditions again today. A storm is moving in tonight, in fact I can see it already socking in as I write this. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. I don’t have many pictures because we have been mostly taking video but here are a few pics from the trip so far.
