Ultima Thule Lodge

May 1, 2014

Long time no post…

I had an amazing opportunity to spend three days touring in the Wrangels – St. Elias National Park in Alaska.  This trip was made possible by POW (Protect Our Winters), Chris Davnenport and the Ultima Thule Lodge.

Flew from Seattle to Anchorage.  Rented a car and drove 5 hours to just outside of Chitina.  From there Paul, the main man at ultimo Thule Lodge flew us another hour into the lodge.

Each day we flew to a new remote destination and spent the day skinning and skiing in some of the most remote and beautiful mountains I have ever seen.

Words fail to bring justice to this trip.  Here are some pics.

April 12, 2013

Spent four days in the yurt.  No electricity or running water.  This really was one of my favorite trips to date.  Thanks Jon!

Japan

March 4, 2012

Just got back from another amazing trip to Hakuba, Japan. Thanks to Craig, Matt, Jen, Matt, Pat and everyone else at Morino Lodge.  You guys make the trip.  While the snow and area are pretty great, you guys are the reason we keep coming back.  Thank you!

Japan has been having a huge snow year this year and while we somehow planned our trip right after a big rain event it was still great.  It’s amazing how easy it is to get a refresh of snow in Hakuba.  The snow got better each day resulting in a few deep and fun days at Cortina.

We hit Tokyo on the back end of the trip.  That place is crazy.  Here are a few pictures from our trip.

My cousin George and I walking to Happo One.

George and I at Cortina.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Craig is the man!

Bryce and the evo trip crew showed up. They had 19 people this year! Nice work evo!

The lodge/hotel at Cortina never gets old.

You can actually see the Sea of Japan from the top of Cortina. NBD.

Japan trees.

Found out our camera has one of those special "cover shot' functions. We decided to test it out on George. Works.

Cool shot from the chair looking back at the lodge and the valley.

George pointing out the obvious.

Cheers! Thanks Morino Lodge people!

What's up fish? Say hi to your mother for me.
